Park your car and then forget about it, Ilfracombe's harbour area is an ideal spot to escape the rat race, even if just for a weekend break.
After your Full English Breakfast claim a bench in the sunshine on the harbourside and spend a lazy couple of hours watching the boats and the people come and go. Then amble back along The Quay for a traditional Devonshire Cream Tea at The Harbour Lights, browsing the quaint souvenir shop windows as you pass by.
In the afternoon take a stroll along Capstone Parade to fully appreciate the glorious North Devon coastline. On a clear day you can see Lundy Island and the South Wales coast in the distance.
